The war in between drones and choppers in Ukraine

.ON JULY 31ST pictures of a Russian Mi-8 transport chopper, collapsed and burning, began flowing on social media. That in itself was certainly not uncommon: Ukrainian powers have shot down scores of helicopters because the Russian attack started. Much more unexpected was the case in the Ukrainian press that this chopper had been actually downed through a little drone.

A video recording discharged by the nation’s armies a couple of days later seemed to be to give support to that insurance claim: the footage (view below) shows a drone striking an additional Russian aircraft, this time an Mi-28 attack helicopter, apparently requiring it to make an emergency situation touchdown. Was actually these lucky smash hits– or even indicators of an advance in aerial war?
